Dear Daisy,
Every single medication, even seemingly innocuous ones like Tylenol and aspirin, come with a long list of risks and benefits. Trazodone does as well. As physicians, our job is to weigh the risk to benefit ratio in each case based on the special circumstances of that particular patient. Trazodone has a high benefit to risk ratio for most patients and thus considered a relatively safe medication. Only you in a consultation with your doctor who is aware of your complete medical history and other extenuating circumstances will be able to judge how beneficial Trazodone prescription will be in your particular case. If you do not trust your doctor to advise you in this, find another on. Good luck you.
