permanent damage from drug overdose???

about 4 1/2 months ago i smoked a blunt and had a severe reaction
and had
to go to the hospital. it felt like a tremendous
adrenaline rush and my heart
was racing and i almost passed out.
the doctor said he was sure it was laced
with some other drug
because of the effects. i smoked the blunt up in just a
few minutes, so i must have had a massive dose of it. for a week and
a half
after i had a severe withdrawel. there was severe
depression and an empty
detached feeling; severe anxiety;
tightness in chest and a drunken
disoriented feeling. after the
initial withdrawel there was a period of
alternating episodes of
depression, along with tightness in chest and cold
skin. this gradually went away after about 2 1/2 months. during this time
i
experienced psychological changes and became very anxious and
hypochondrial.
during this time i noticed a twiching in my thumb
and sensitivity to other
drugs. ever since i kept having occasional twitching and jerking in different
body parts. and in
the last three weeks i started having episodes of
trembling and
nervousness. it seems to be getting more frequent and i still
have the sensitivity to medicines (particularly antihistamines)
this has me
really worried. any info would be appreciated. thanks

Gene,

The most likely explanation is that your "bad trip" has triggered an anxiety
disorder - this something we see quite often. You may have been traumatize by
the unpleasant experience, and now you are worrying about all sorts of feelings
and sensations which you were previously able to ignore. Your best bet is to get
evaluated and treated, face-to-face, by a mental health professional in your
area (preferably one who knows about anxiety and substance abuse).

Good luck!
