Wow. Thanks for being so straightforward! That's what I was wanting to hear. I have seen already how I could fall into the trap of addiction on this drug. And I do not want, and will not allow that to happen! I am now tapering down, and will be firm with my pain management doc to help me through the process. It is a crazy road that I am on and I want off!
I have had a lot of experience with Tramadol addiction and it is not to be taken lightly. PLEASE keep checking forums for information on this drug. It is addictive and the doctors (many of them) are clueless. Many only know and repeat what they are told by drug company representatives who come to see them periodically. Some people seem to have a predisposition to become addicted to Tramadol. If it gives you a lift, energy, makes you more social, and happy, then your brain is at risk to this stuff. You don't have to go down that road, so don't minimize the danger here. Most prescription addicts start out with a legitimate pain issue, find the euphoria, and then the rest is fairly predictable. If I were you, just starting this process, I'd take what you must to get by, and begin your exit plan NOW. Don't become enmeshed with this tuff and become another slave to little white pills. It isn't necessary if you'll only listen to others who've gone down this ****** road.
You cannot get off of Tramadol fast enough my friend!!!
I'm thinking maybe it's because it's not considered a narcodic (sp). It will take time to be completely free of those as well. I went from taking 8 a day to 4 a day and it caused mood swings and fatigue for a little while. Medicine is a scary thing. Keep your head up, you'll be off of everything soon enough.
Yeah so I'm in pain management, and after being on percs for 6 mnths before surgery and two weeks after, i felt like **** from withdrawals. so she put me on tramadol, to deal with my residual pain plus opiate withdrawals.i take 6 a day, no more, and i feel good, but now I'm reading all this stuff about tramadol being addictive...why didn't she tell me this? I just want to be off all pills! i thought she was helping me to do that.
Why would they give you Tramadol to get off of Percocet?! Tramadol is also very addictive despite what they may have said. It's more physically addicting. I am taking Tramadol and it took me forever to go from 8 a day to 4 a day. If you stop taking it you'll experience mood swings, loose bowels, uncontrollable yawning, extreme fatigue, sweats...etc. As for period changes, no it does not cause those. It will give you the shakes, dry mouth, and a decrease in appetite. Good Luck and stay strong!
I am not aware that Tramadol causes such changes. Please check this out with your gynecologist.
It shouldn't you defiantly need to consult your DR and explain symptoms and changes just a friendly suggestion
