Hi,
I am a 50 yr. old femaleCondoms Female condoms Female sexual dysfunction who has been dealing with menopause and various other symptoms that led my Dr. to test all of my hormones in additon to my thyroid, cortisolCortisol level and iron levels. Everything was normalNormal saline flush except for estrogenHormone replacement therapy, testosterone, dhea, and cortisolCortisol level. My cortisolCortisol level was below the range so now my dr. has me going for bloodwork for the following, repeat 8am cortisol, LDH, Aldosterone, ACTH, and 4pm cortisol. She has told me that my adrenal function may be compromised and I guess that is why she is suggesting all of the tests. I should also mention she had tested me for thyroid antibodies and that was within normal. My question is will all of these tests give me any conclusive answers in regard to my adrenal function? I have all of the symptoms of adrenal insufficiency but I know sometimes these tests can come back normal so I am concerned as to what my next step would be and where would I go at that point. Can anybody share their advice or knowledge on this subject. Thank you
