I did not put lab sample in fridge

Hi,
I was told I do not have to place the container for 24 hour urine adrenal test in fridge when I picked up the container from lab. When I took it back the day after, I was told I was supposed to have it refrigerated, but that she would place it in their fridge at that moment. I then asked if I needed to re do and she told me that they would call me, but they did not and I called again and again they told me they would call, but nothing. Today I got the lab results and everything looks normal... I am not comfortable knowing now that I had to refrigerate the container, but I did not because they did not tell me to. Does anyone if the results come out lower if not refrigerated?
Thank you

Yes, it will come out lower if it is not refrigerated. I guess if you want a low result this is ok, but if you are testing for Cushing's, it is not.

The bacteria degrades the sample.

Next time, keep it cold from start to finish. Think peecicle.
