Pheochromocytoma?

I am a 28 yr. old with symptoms of:  fatigue, high BP (since the age of 23), rapid HR, hot flashes, night sweats,(but then cold hands and feet at times too), weight loss but increased appetite.  I have been monitored for thyroid dysfunction for the past 5 yrs. and I have always been told my labs are "within range".  On my visit to an endo last week I was yet again told that I am "normal." He basically in a nice way said my BP and tachycardia, etc were probably due to an underlying anxiety issue. Then he said that as a precaution he was also going to order a plasma free metanephrines test to check me for a pheochromocytoma (a tumor of my adrenal gland)  b/c of my symptoms and the fact that they are episodic.  I was told it could take up to 2 weeks to get the results.  So now I'm just waiting.  
Does this sound familiar to anyone?  If it isn't this or my thyroid...what else could be the problem?  I don't feel like its just an anxiety issue...although I suppose it's not impossible.  Help.  I need answers.

Wait and see how the tests come back. Get copies and dump that poor excuse of a doctor and find another who will also test you for cortisol as well.

Even with the weight loss - you may either have pheo or a possible cortisol issue, high or low, as BP can fluctuate with that (I had Cushing's and low blood pressure, now with no adrenals, still have it).

And you can still have the thyroid issue too - there is  nothing saying that OMG! you can have more than one issue going one - and he was silly not to check you for multiple issues.
