Relationship between low cortisol and vitamin D

Hi,
I was just wondering if there is a relationship between low cortisol and Vitamin D deficiency? My doctor told me to start taking vit D ( I think she said 2000 units) right away.
Isn't that a high dose?
Thanks for any info again
Take care

I was diagnosed with low Vit D, and I am taking 50,000 units of vit d 3 x a week. It has helped me tremendously!

I was diagnosed with low cortisol and low Vit D.

I was put on 5,000 IU of Vit D/day for 30 days then 2,000IU/day
and had my readings taken 3 months later.
My Vit D level rose from below the range to well within the range.

A year later I maintain my Vit D levels with 1,000 IU/day

It happens to a lot of those with high cortisol as well.
I take 4000 iu a day with my doctor's orders.

There is a prescription pill for 50,000iu  that is taken once a week (but someone here was taking it 3x a week she was so low).
