Saliva testing

I have ACTH Defficiency, I have been going to my GP for 3 years and he is trying to find the cause of my fatigue. My medication was changed last Feb and I was put on Prednisone and I remained on Cortef
They dropped 1/2 tab of the Cortef tab and my Cordisol levels went up, they dropped the other 1/2 tab of Cortef and my Cordisol levels went up again

They have now leveled out and I am just on Prednisone

I am exhausted all the time, I am considering doing some saliva testing, do you know if that is accurate and would you reccomend anything else?

How long have you been on prednisone? How much?

If you do saliva testing, the cortisol levels you are going to pick up are going to be the medication, prednisone. Pred and HC are artificial cortisol. HC is more like what the body makes. Pred lasts longer and has more side effects.

If you are exhausted, you can be taking too much or too little (yes, too much causes fatigue as well) cortisol.  It could also be thyroid, vitamins etc. as cortisol interferes with lots of other hormones.
