DHEA-S was elevated - ah you have T&E... E is low, T is ok. DHEA converts to either T or E.
Weird my lab gives both supine and upright level ranges as no one does the upright test (ever!).
No, you are not supposed to drop at the end - even with a small dose.
Estradiol S <10 range E2 15-350
Total Testosterone 18 range 8-60
Hi Rumpled!
Yes me again...I'm still plugging away at this.
I was sitting for the test. They had me sitting in the waiting room for 1/2 hour before they called me back.
The only range for Renin I have is what I wrote from the report.
My sim test was with the small dose so could that explain why I dropped in the end?
What do you mean by precursor hormone for T and E is up? What other levels?
Hi North!
I found this on K=
"Physicians question elevated potassium results when the numbers do not fit the patient's clinical condition. Potassium levels can be falsely elevated by a variety of circumstances surrounding specimen collection and specimen processing. For example, if a patient is clenching and relaxing his fist, the potassium level in his blood may increase. If blood samples are delayed in getting to the lab or if the blood tubes are subjected to vigorous shaking or rough handling in transit, pottasium may leak from red blood cells and falsely elevate the potassium in the serum. "
Since all your previous levels were low, and this one inconsistent, the doctor, if thinking, *should* wonder about collection - but may or may not think about it.
Renin is a fussy test - the tech should do the test when you are standing (hence the upright comment) and you should have been standing for at least 30 min before the test. I used to stand in the waiting room and drive people nuts. :) So you have a supine level - did they give that range?
The aldosterone looks normal. Oddly that test is done rarely on me so I don't know much about it.
The stim test was not all that good - you did technically double but you dropped at the end - which should trouble the doctor. You never go crazy high - so I hope you have a good doc who at least considers the whole picture.
I don't know of sweating as a symptom - perhaps other have input. I would say that perhaps with one hormonal loop off, it is not that uncommon to have problems with another - while your precursor hormone for T and E is up - what are the other levels?
