confused

I don't know where else to turn.  I have had very low energy & fall asleep after meals, and this has been going on for years.  It usually sets in while I eat and I fall asleep aprox. 1/2 hr afterwards.  I have also noticed my hair thinning drastically for the past 4 months or so.  I am very worried about both.  I had a fasting blood test done last week that came back normal, and I just don't know what to do anymore.  It's all causing me to be very depressed and I feel like nobody believes me.  Please help

Did they check your hormone levels? Like, your Cortisol, DHEA, Testosterone, and so on?
I know from myself, that I have low DHEA and Cortisol levels, which make me fatigued.
I also have some other illnesses, which make me tired, so, I am going to a new doctor Saturday.
Did you see an Endocrinologist? Maybe thats the route to go.
Hang in there, and don't give up!

Low energy and thinning hair are signs of a thyroid problem. Many times a thyroid test can come out normal even though you have a thyroid problem. Aboutthyroid.com is an excellent website. You can take a test there to see if you might be hypo thyroid. Many regular docs don't have a good understanding of thyroid problems or thyroid medications. You may have an adrenal problem too. I have both. I feel your confusion. I've been there and am there. You need to talk to a natural doctor. There is more than one blood test that should be given to diagnose a thyroid problem. I don't know what one you had. Also natural doctors don't just look at blood tests.  They believe you when you tell them how you feel and they treat how you feel.

Hi,
I too have a tendency to fall asleep after meals, especially when I was a child.  Now as an adult, I sometimes very tired and sleep for 16 hours straight or wake up to eat breakfast and go to sleep again. though Dx w/ hashimoto and went on meds was constantly sleeping 12-16 hours and feel like I am 90 yrs old.

I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH MUTLI VITAMINE WHICH NOBODY RECOMMENDED TO ME OTHER THAN OLDER PEOPLE, SEEMS TO HAVE SOLVE MY FALLING ASLEEP PROBLEM.
I BUT MY VITAMINE AT THE HELTH FOOD STORE CAUSE' IT DOESN'T HAVE THE WAX AND OTHER GUNGY STUFF THAT SHOULDN'T BE THERE.

Just a thought:  Have you had your blood pressure taken recently?  Your lack of energy could be related to very low BP.  I'm not sure about your hair loss though.

I am sorry you are feeling so poorly. You are in the right place, as so many of us here do as well.

Is there anything else that makes you think this could be adrenal?
