Xanax is a poor thing to give a person as it is addictive, and will not help much. There are medications to lower cortisolCortisol level, and there are doctors that know more than the one you are seeing - who can test you more, and treat the other hormones that are off, which are most certainly are.
Your doctor has to test to determine why your adrenals are putting out too much - it the problem is pituitary or adrenal.
