should I have a CT scan with the dye or without to check my adrenal glands?

I'm just wondering if any of you know which is better.  My doctor sent me for a CT scan to rule out pheochromocytoma about 2 months ago, when I went the technicians said they couldn't inject the dye because my doctor had not sent my lab work to show them that my kidneys were fine and they would have to reschedule me, well now my lab work got sent but this time I was told I will have a CT scan without the dye, so I'm confused and would like to know from any of you that have had this test before if you know if I should insist on having the dye or if it would be fine to have it without it.  

I've been not feeling well since Sept/08 and I would really like to know if my adrenal glands are to blame for this but I don't know much about ct scans.

It is better to have the dye. Adrenals are hard to see as it is and so you need to dye.
I had normal adrenal scans before my surgery - very large adrenals removed and then a normal adrenal scan after surgery. So, as you see, they are very hard to see. That was with contrast.
