i was wondering if anyone out there has had success in any way getting treatment? i tried the midwest center program, but didnt help. im in the process of searching for what to do next. i am terrified of leaving the house. i've had this for more than 20 years. thanks for any suggestions.

I was homebound for awhile and am doing better all the time. getting out more and more. So far the most helpful things have been, the anxiety and phobia workbook, Eckhart tolle's power of now and The mindful way through depression. The cd that comes with it I do the meditations daily and wow what a difference. I also really enjoy the feel the fear and do it anyway cd and the book taming your gremlins. I know that sounds like alot but I read some in one book or another a few minutes daily, listen to the cd on fear when I am stopping myself from doing something, and 1 or 2 tracks on the meditation cd daily. I have expanded my territory quite a bit but more important, I am not miserable when i do go out and even enjoy it. Good luck, accept that you have this issue and accept the work it will take to get better.
