Yeah. it's one of the huge symptoms. Anxiety/Panic Attacks are two different things. and Anxiety Attacks lead to Panic attacks. thats why most people hyperventilate during them.

Agree with rik.  Unrelieved anxiety builds and bang! here comes a full blown panic attack.  No fun.

Hyperventilation is symptomatic....but with full blown panic attack there are several other physical things going on at the same time.

Never rule out an organic cause....so off to the doctor to see if you are physically healthy, then time to deal with the anxiety before it gets out of control.
