If husband abuses lortabs?

If husband abuses lortabs?

My husband abuses Lortab 10/500 (around 5 to 10) and drink whiskey 2 half pints.  if he contracts Hep from this drug abuse can I contract it as well and if yes what should I do?  I am a mother of 5 beautiful girls and I am not trying to shorten up my life because of his bad habbits. I don't drink, smoke, or do any street drugs and I am scared of what might happen to me.  Please help.

I have thought of turning in the people who sell it to him... should I?

Why do you think he will get hep??  You can only get that if he is sharing needles or other unsafe contact.

littlebit is right - I assume you're talking about hepatitis C, and it's transmitted through sharing needles or unprotected sexual contact with someone who is infected.  Even then there is no guarantee that it will be passed on.  So much depends on the viral load, the health of the person's immune system, and the genotype of the virus.  Some genotypes are more virulent than others.  One reason hep C is so difficult to treat is that it constantly mutates.  The person's immune system may be able to keep up with it for years before failing.

If you're still worried that your husband's behavior may have left you open to hep C or any other sexually transmitted disease, your best course of action is to see your doctor for testing.

As to your question about turning in your husband's dealers, that's entirely your call.  I'm all for shutting down any dealer but be prepared for, shall we say, lack of interest on the part of law enforcement.  You will also have to be prepared to provide direct evidence of their lawlessness.  Have you actually witnessed a deal in progress?  If not, it's just hearsay.

Trust me, even if you put this group out of business, your husband will find someone else.  That crap is everywhere and it's a small matter for him to find another dealer.  Until his life becomes so unmanageable due to his addiction he will not stop.

Right now, your life sounds pretty unmanageable due to your husband's addiction.  Give Al-Anon a try.  You can get some sanity back with their help.
