My Live Partner Is An Alcoholic

My partner is drinking hard for over 25 years 100 bottles of beer a week.We are together for 3 years she also works with me .She is a verbaly abuser everything i do is wrong on the jobsite and at home.
She has two children from two diffrent faters.She is a good woman works hard keeps the house a 100% very inteligent
reads a lot.Child hood mother a alcoholic sexualy abuse bad lock with all her relation ships there are times i want to leave but i cant this is the first relationship i stay and try to work someting out need some advise how to handle it

hello. the best source of support for those who are living with an alcoholic is al-anon. as far as other issues such as abuse, there is individual as well as joint counseling. another thing to consider is spending some time away from each other. spending every waking moment with the same person is often destructive to the relationship. if possible, have a rational conversation with her (when she's sober) and express your concerns. if she is receptive, you may be able to work things out. if not, you should decide what you are willing to accept, and plan accordingly. emotional security is not worth being abused. a successful relationship takes effort on both parts, and one person putting in all or most of the work to do so creates resentment and disappointment. a truly great relationship is not 50/50---both parties need to give 100% -----with respect and honesty being critical for success. best of luck---gm
