i forgot if you start taking multivitamins..and drink alot of cranberry juice like ocean spray...and orange juice....and alot of potassium  like potatos,yogurts,bananas..these will; help with ur cravings and help ur body heal faster..ur going to shake dont want to scare you...but if you drank more than 12 beers at least 3-5 days aweek this is the common physical withdrawal..and belive me the juice will help....then when you get over all the physical parts...then you will need  anti oxidants..alot  of protein i mean alot...try to stay away from caffeine as much as you can..and folic acid also..these will help you in ur physiological  areas  of ur mind....but wants you get threw a month depending on how long you drank and how much..is a big factor..it took me 3 monthes to feel real good..you might want to get counseling,,AA is good for some people..wasent for me though..all they  did was talked about the things that we do..and i didnt want to hear of something that i use to do..but try it might work for you......good  luck..james

Hi Natalie, I'm a firm believer that you are capable of doing anything you put your mind to. If you really want this, you have it in you to make it happen. Feel free to check out my page and my journals and maybe it will give you some perspective on what it's like early on and a variety of ways to deal with getting sober and changing your life. I was a mess for 19 years and I'm only 31, but I've been sober 100 days, so it is possible girl! You can do it! I'm here to answer questions, or if you just need someone to talk to. I wish you the best, it's a rough road, but SO worth it in the long run!

I see from your profile that you are 2 days sober? If so, GOOD JOB!  The first 7-10 days are the toughest as far as physical withdrawal is concerned - this depends on how long and how much you drank before.  I don't say that to scare you, but just so you'll be aware of the fact that you have to put up with some discomfort before it gets easier.  Stay busy, drink fluids, take a multi-vitamin and eat quality food.

If you have trouble sleeping, try a little exercise around dinner time - even a good walk.

hi. ya, a .32 bac is high. have you ever been to aa? you don't have to be sober, just have a desire to stop drinking. i fought the bottle and other things for many years and the only thing that has worked for me (and most others i know) consistently has been applying the principles of aa to my daily life. have you ever tried to stop before, and if so how did it go? there are a lot of resources online that will help (including this site) if you really want to quit. i can tell you it doesn't get any better once you've crossed the line, and it sounds like you have. but the sooner you take action, the less you will have to suffer the endless cycle of obsession, guilt and remorse that only those with chemical dependency can begin to understand. you can have your life back, if you are ready. welcome to the forum and take care,  gm
