Alcohol abuse and abdominal painss..... i heed help my bf is in hospital and i need some answers

My boyfriend has been drinking beers like heineken and soo nearly everyday for the past 3 years....... on monday he had some severe abdominal pains and wound up in the ICU of the hospital the next day.... he's been in ICU since and he cant eat they feed him through tubes and about on wednesday he had breathing problems and now is friday and he has been set up on an oxygen machine.... WHat is happening?? what could the problem be??? how severe is this problem???? i need answers can some one help me PLZZZZ!!!!!

I really don't know what's happening, what are the doctors telling you? It could be a number of things, maybe a bug that's going around or alcohol poisoning, gallbladder, so keep on Staying  positive! Keep asking the doctors, Don't worry,  Just try to keep yourself together and have a positive vibe around him, that helps. Write me back and lets see if we can figure this out! Take care of yourself and I hope and pray your boyfriend will be better. hugs to you

I AM in a mess cause i cant go see him n we 2gether for lik 4.5 yrs they nly allowing his siblings and parentss... that suckss..... he is hooked up to  machine to help him breathe an stuff....... at first his sisters were saying it is something that cut( i believe its the pancreatic duct or the bile duct) and something was escaping to his stomach or something like that but they cant say exactly wat.......  HOW COULD IT REACH TO HIS BREATHING?????? n the doctors "cant operate cause his system weak." tanxx soo much for responding...... i have exams an dthis really messed up!!!

I'm so sorry, You sound so upset, I can feel it in your writing, When it comes to that kind of pain, you have trouble breathing, when I was in the hospital with a gallbladder attack I needed help breathing. I was in so much pain that I couldn't breathe. I'm so sorry, I wish there was something I could do something to help you. Stay strong! I'M HERE FOR YOU!

Could very well be his pancreas! The pancreas can get very disturbed by alcohol abuse, chronic or acute inflammation. It can even rupture, so it is good he is now at the hospital for close monitoring. read up on "pancreas+alcoholism"! if you Google it, you'll find lots.

And of course it can also be his system reacting "in general" bc of all the drinking OR it can be totally unrelated to drinking, but even if that's the case, the drinking is very dangerous. Believe me, I have been a hard core drinker for many, many years and my liver as well as my pancreas got affectd. Not fun!  Bless you and your boyfriend, though, and I sincerely hope this mess will clear up!/ Pia

well its tuesday, 8 days since he has been in the icu... he's still the same way.. got some more info and i gathered that it could be gastroenteritis along with other things.....  cause they flushed his system... and was testing his  blood sooo it could be that..

Well you and your boyfriend are in our thoughts and prayers, he is in good hands.
If there was an underlying problem like Gastro then drinking could exasperate this however this is not the time to worry about the if and buts these things can be delt with in time.

I didn't get a chance to thank everyone for the info, and update yous guys on what happen.. he came out of the hospital 2 months after admissions and is fine today...
