Am I ok?

I only drink heavy about twice a week, usually on the weekends. I know the next day I'll have a hang-over and pay for it, but I accept that the night before. I drink quite alot but drink plenty of water before I go to sleep and in the morning.
Occasionally during the week I'll drink if I have a day off.
Do I have a problem with my drinking?
I think I'm ok. I never get violent and the worst thing I would do is get sleepy or pass out.

I'm the same way, I usually only drink a couple nights a week, but when I do I drink heavy.  I'm currently looking into moderating that, and if I can't, stopping all together.  Heavy drinking a couple nights a week is tough on your body and on your brain, and can progress into something more serious.  I'd suggest trying to stop completely for a month or two.  If you cant you have a problem.  If you can compare your life from when you were drinking to when you weren't and see if its something you really want to keep doing.

i used to think alcoholics got violent...i didn't get violent so that was just one of the symptoms i didn't get and made me think i wasn't an alcoholic...another thing i did was to ask folks if i drank too much...they would say...billy you don't drink that much...but i always asked folks that drank...as a drink once a week turned into two a week then one just before dinner almost every night ..then one after dinner..and so on...i never drank durring the day..just at night..but way too much..this whole process took 15 years to grow...and what a nasty problem...what a lot of time that went into nothing ...i really thought i wasn't an alcoholic...look at pictures of a heathy liver and a alcoholic's liver..good luck...billy
