I have only just recently read about it and I did not get a very good impression. The FDA has warning's out about possible injection site infections that can be very serious.
Also, like the "Rapid Detox" method of detoxing from opiates it entails blocking certain receptors in your brain. This is a very new procedure that is controversial at best and can lead to death by overdose if the one being treated try's to use alcohol or narcotics during or after the process. These procedures do not take in consideration the psychological effects of long term alcohol abuse and even states that it is to be taken with a follow up/aftercare program.
I would think twice and then twice again before letting my fear of cravings push me to a place that I cannot return from. Sounds like the 'ol saying, "If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is." The very fact that it is little known procedure in a country where millions of alcoholics suffer daily would give me pause. Why isn't it on the front page of time magazine and the inventor being offered the "Noble peace prize" ?? lol !! If there was ever a candidate for a peace prize that would be worth giving it would be a shot that could cure Alcohol Cravings with NO side effects !! I read that this drug has many potential side effects !! Not to mention that I never did like being a guinea pig, especially when it costs $700.00 a pop !!
When I read or hear of these miracle drugs that promise a short and easy way out of what took us years to get into I think of yet another saying ... "You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it." ..... Burr
Hi
I have tried Campral with no success.
I have just received Naltrexone tabs from River Pharmacy.
By itself Naltexone has shown few benefits. From what I can find out the only useful way is to follow the Sinclair method.
I'll let you know how I get on.

i am more familiair with naltrexone and have seen good results with Campral.
