Feeling sick

Well after years of alcohol abuse I felt proud today when I took out the glass recycling and it wasn't full of beer/wine/gin/scotch bottles..! The headaches the started when I stopped 23 days ago are becoming less and for a shorter times, the shakes have stopped, mood swings are more controllable now  ....  the craving's still there though as i'm sure it always will be ..!

Problem I've had over the last few of days is i'm feeling quite sick, especially in the mornings then it starts to dissipate about lunchtime so I can have some lunch, then comes back late in the evening. Is this another symptom of withdrawal? or have I just caught another bug from the kids!

Google Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome....many of us experienced some of this or all of it after ceasing the alcohol use....and see if any of it applies 2 u...i think u will find it does!Kudos 2 u for NOT drinking....this will in time go away...it did w/me!

Are you going to AA for support? People withdraw differently from alcohol physically... The mental obsession remains there for a while. The antidote for me was getting a sponsor and working the steps of the program.

Hi there, no I'm going on will power and family/friend support at the moment. But my resolve is strong and i'm willing to fair the bad weather, so I'll just stick it out I guess.
