Quit drinking without any help..treatment centers, physicians almost 16 days. On day 8 started getting headaches on left side of my head..they are random and come on quick, I take a couple of 200mg Ibuprophen and maybe a little caffeine (soda) and within 20 minutes or so gone..but still have at least two to three daily is this normal? I hae not had any dt's, sweats, nausea or anything else..just tired in the afternoon...other than that I am great...
Hi brt4it congrats on the 15 days !! I believe it's normal. It takes our body some time to adjust to being without our DOC (drug of choice) but I bet the headache isnt as bad as my hangover headaches were ") Be proud of yourself you are doing great ! Are you going to meetings?
Hello. Congrads on your success this far! Were you drinking a lot of caffeine prior to ceasing the alcohol? What you are describing sounds like caffeine withdrawal. Often folks will stop ingesting caffeine and other things that were present while drinking. But in time this will pass. Meanwhile, some caffeine, lots of water or gatorafe' and vitamins will go a long way. Take care, GM
