How do I stop drinking alcohol?

by boobird12, May 26, 2009 07:16PM
I am a longtime drinker of alcohol.  I drink up to 1 case of beer per day.  12 bottles.  At this point, I do not feel drunk anymore after 12 beers in a timeframe of 3 or 4 hours.  Is my liver still being damaged?  Am i addicted to alcohol?

HI
Well I'm no Dr but yes of course you are still damaging your liver. It doesn't matter if it affects your mind the same it still does the same damage. As far as quitting there are a few different things you can try. My bf drang 3 pints of vodka a day and he tappered off, it was hard and he went through withdraws, shakes and being sick but eventually it worked. You could try cold turkey or see your dr there are some pills that can help you deal with the withdraws but then you have to be carefull because you don't want to trade one addiction for another. Look on the internet and find some AA meetings in your area that you can go to.
    Best of luck to you.
