I feel physically fine does that mean I am healthy?

I have been drinking a lot in the past but now have cut down and drink much less. I used to kill a bottle of wine every night of the week plus plenty of Vodka and mixed cocktails during the weekend. But now I just try my best to only keep my drinking to the weekends and drink very little or none at all during weekdays unless there's a holiday or something. Now I only drink a bottle of wine every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I have the rest of the days off am I doing better? Will I have a healthier liver now cause I cut down dramatically on how much I used to drink? I mean it's a big improvement isn't it? I went down to 7 bottles a week to only 3 and I have a 4-5 days break each week from alcohol to let my body recover can I stop worrying now? I mean 3 bottles a week 3 days in a row is better then killing a bottle every night on top of Vodka and cocktails at weekends right?

Hi and thanks for sharing with us.  I would get a liver test done to check your enzymes.  That will let you know how your liver is functioning.  Often times we still feel ok even though we are doing damage to our bodies.  Sometimes when we do feel the pain it can be too late.  I would see a doctor and get checked out.  Also when we drink enough it can dull the pain that we do feel.  This would make it seem as though we aren't hurt that bad.  Good luck!!!

I felt great, didn't suffer any side effects, then my doctor did a routine blood test,my liver function test had more than tripled in 2 years,I was told a normal test should read between 0 and 45 mine was 35,two years later and another blood test it was 110,I felt fine,my doctor told me if I didn't stop I was headed to getting cirrhosis of the liver,I did stop and 3 months later my levels were back within a normal range, but I have been warned if I start to drink again my levels will rise quickly and they will not recover. You need to get your liver checked, you don't always feel the results of damage until it's too late, don't wait
