Knee Scope & alcohol

Knee Scope & alcohol

Hi Doc,

I'm a 31 year old male who has recently had the need to have a knee scope done, and I have it scheduled in a few days.  I am also an alcoholic to a degree.  I don't experience any major withdrawal symptoms, just some finger shakes only noticeable to me.  I usualy drink 8 to 12 drinks per day (beer and/or liquor) 6 days out of the week.  I have done that for about 6 months or so.  Before that I was a moderate social drinker.

My question is how much concern/complication can be caused in my situation due to I will be put under general anesthesia for the procedure.  Thanks in advance for your help.  I know that I have to stop drinking and this has been a motivational anxiety moment for me.  Please let me know if I am ok to go under the General Anesthesia.
Thanks!
