Naltrexone/Vivitrol Shots - anyone else take them?

I have been getting vivitrol shots (liquid form of naltrexon i think) once a month for almost a year for alcoholism.  I was wondering if anyone else on here has tried it and what their experience has been?

Please check the fda warnings I had the worst case side effects and I have had to have 2 surgerys from it.

I have never had this therapy myself, but am currently on a similar medication called campral, which helps to prevent cravings for alcohol. as i understand, vivitrol was originally used for opiate dependence and was found to also be effective in combating alcoholism. take care,  gm
