Hello, Why do I rest 3 to 5 months, without drinking but then when I start  I CANNOT STOP. I do not sleep.

hi there. you have described a common trait of alcoholism. one doesn't have to drink every day or always to excess to have a problem. my father rarely drank during my childhood and teenage years, but when i was around 27, he began to make up for lost time, unable to quit. i spent my 30th birthday in the icu and 3 days later watched him die as a direct result of alcoholism. you are playing with fire my friend. best wishes,  gm
