Hi,
As part of my recovery I needed to deal with things from my past.

Alcoholism is an illness that needs to be treated, the smart thing to do for starters is to speak with your family doctor about your drinking.
Most people with addiction issues are powerless because they do not recognise they have a problem and those that do don’t want to accept they have a problem or just don’t want to change, this is why we have to change our thinking. Easer said than done when you are drinking for many years.
After many years I still can go back to my old way of thinking and not be aware of it. This can lead me back to drinking, that is the last thing on earth I want or need, this is why I go to AA.

You don't need alcohol dear.....u want it to blot out the painful things that have happened to you!Get a good therapist and please begin to chip away at these demons that haunt you.My Mom is 91...her father molested her in the 1930's.Back then girls didn't talk about that stuff. She has never really dealt with that and it haunts her to this day but she has begun to talk about it over the years. It has ruined her happiness but she has been the best mother on the face of this earth...being a survivor.U r one too and get strong for the sake of ur own child to be its guide in this tumultuous world we live in!:)A child lives what they learn and they will learn from u!

unfortunately what is in the past usually does lead us to use. those feelings we never wanted to feel. i am so sorry about what happened to you, but i hope and pray you dont use alcohol and ruin your life from here on out. you are so young, sounds like you have so much to live for...that baby of yours, and yourself, alcohol will do nothing but destroy everything good in your life,

please consult a therapist and perhaps she/he can refer you to some other help with the alcohol issue. bringing up the past can be painful, thats why there are professionals to help you along, we all have some pain in our past, some more than others, but the way i see it now is this, why let whoever hurt me or you win by taking the rest of my life!!!  why suffer day after day with alocohlism and drug addiction (in my case) for things i could have never controlled anyway..

point is, you are not alone, you dont have to be anymore....i commend you for sharing such a painful story, whenever you need that support we are here...but please try to take a step further for yourself and your baby, you both deserve it. i have a 1 year old and i never thought it was affecting her, maybe it wasnt maybe it was, but i sure dont want to find out the hard way, and thank God i did not ever harm her, i never drove drunk or drinking period, she never needed emergency care while i was under the influence, my husband was always around....but what if??? ya know what i mean...God i was lucky and i remember just that every day....

you have a lot of strength for posting this, keep reaching out!!
