getting sick a lot after quitting alcohol

Has anyone experienced getting sick a lot after quitting alcohol? All the years I have been drinking every day I was so rarely sick, even with a small child I rarely caught the colds he brought home from school , now it's like I can't shake one cold and another thing happens. Is my immune system messed up? I do come in contact with a lot of people at work but still, it's been exhausting..

Last time I quit, around New Years - I did not get sick, although I did have some funny digestive issues. All in all, for whatever reason, while drinking heavily - I rarely got sick. Perhaps it's because I prefer to drink at home - and I'm not in the general public as much?
