herbs really helped!

I made some remedies from recipes that I got from www.herbalmedicinerecipes.com and it really helped me with alcohol. But I was wondering if there are any side effects from herbs? I went to FDA website and it says that herbs are not controlled substances so I assume they are mostly safe? Let me know if you have any info.

u can google various herbs and their side effects if taken in 2 much quantity.....also depending on where u buy ur herbal supplements the purity and strength vary...many over the counter varieties are reputed to be mainly fillers!different brands have different reputations.....check Consumer Reports on articles for this and hopefully some others here will jump in with helpful info!

Well, these herbals have not been scientifically tested and evaluated according to the same methods as a pharmaceutical.  But not even all pharmaceuticals are safe.  So there are risks and benefits, and do not make the false assumption that they are completely safe. Especially if you are mixing different herbals together or taking them in too large of a dose.  

Good website to go to is www.drugs.com   and you can find almost any herbal on there, gives you information on how to use it, risks, etc...
