light headed, brain fog.

So, here's my case. I'm not a drinker, it's easily 2 years since I last had even 1 drink, but on Friday evening I went out on a binge drinking session. The paramedics ended up being called as a friend was worried I was spiked. He checked my blood sugars and heart rate and determined I'd jus had a panic attack.

2 days later I still can't shift the brain fog. I honestly feel so dazed and pretty useless. This has only happened to me once before when I also pushed my body too far.. at least 5 years ago. I do suffer from anxiety which seems present and at its worst right now and also have a borderline under active thyroid. Both of which I've been told may be the cause of this. Any advice? Don't think I can cope with this feeling anymore and I'm due back at work tomorrow.

You have what's called GAD or general anxiety disorder brought on by alcohol.  For certain people alcohol can trigger an episode, and become a pattern of panic attacks.  I know cause it happened to me in my early 20s as well.   At this point you want to avoid drinking, and try to eliminate caffeine, at least temporarily as that will bring it on.   Exercise is also a good way to reregulate your body to get it back into sync.   Nicotine will also cause some issues as will wine particularly red wine.  It can be scary when you feel it coming on, but it is non life threatening and only bothersome at best.  Try to eat healthy, relax your moods thru yoga or meditation, and take some brisk walks to ease your stress levels.
Please know that you will not have a heart attack, or go insane, rather try to stay calm should you feel it coming on.
Take care
