Congrats on your sobriety, madhatter36! I'm so happy you found support nearby. There may be some online meetings you can attend anonymously. Check out the AA.org site or google it. facebook is also good for that. As well, keep on posting here. We're also here to support. I have five years in and counting, so I'm also happy to help here on the forum:)
Thanks so much for the encouragement i have been clean for 7 days andhave reached out to a small group here in bahrain i am sure i can stay clean with the right train of thought. Facebook tip is great to.
Anonymity is the spirit of AA's foundation. It's based on secrecy of the members or it would never work. You'll see many well known people on the news who break their anonymity but for every one of them there are millions who keep it under wraps. Like Ibzan wrote: people securing some kind of help for themselves. That means ANYTHING! One thing I found was that my own thinking will never fix my own thinking.
I think you've done good by finding this site and posting. That's a start in the right direction. Look for that Facebook page. Look for meetings on line. Try the AA hot-line near your location and tell them your problem with needing complete anonymity. I bet you'll find a solution. Above all do something positive towards your recovery every day. Keep fanning that spark of hope into a continuing burning desire to remain clean and free.
There has to be a support group near you!On Facebook there is a page called Recovery and Hope!Over 135,000 alcoholics/addicts posting from all over the world...India,Iran,Afghanistan....etc...all over the world! Many of them mention attending meetings and securing some type of help for themselves, which can be done minus your company knowing!
