scared of withdrawal symptoms

Hi,
I am 27 years old and have been drinking 4 beers a day for about a year and half.
I really want to quit because I don't want to go on like this for years and years but I am so afraid of withdrawal symptoms and they may effect my life. I am not sure if I am already an alcoholic because it happens sometimes when I drink only one beer or none although I feel uneasy when I don't drink ( I am an anxious person by nature).
I was wandering that will I have a difficult withdrawal symptoms if I quit drinking and will I need medical help or I can do it by myself?

Hello Feryk, well I can honestly say, I drank heavier amounts than you, for longer time periods, alcohol which was much higher percent, as well as my body did not tolerate the drink, I was a lightweight (which did not stop my alcoholism) have first nations in my ancestry, as well as I am allergic to it.
That said, even my withdrawal symptoms were surprisingly minimal. The worst thing i had to deal with were the horrific cravings for the first months, which lessened over time, the severity was worse in the first few weeks, and a very unclear headspace which cleared as i detoxed myself. I state that the emotional withdrawal is the worst kind, at least for me.
Of course I would advise ANYONE to seek support throughout their recovery.
