I have stopped drinking for 4 weeks now and am doing so-so BUT MY SEVERE ITCHING IS UNBARABLE! I HAVE TRIED THE RECOMMENDED BENADRYL BUT NOOOOO RELIEF! PLEASE ADVISE SOMETHING!

Have a diabetes test. You mihgt be having diabetic nuropathy. Sometimes after quitting drinking your sugar will mess up.

A CBC and complete metabolic panel (blood work) would not be a bad idea to check the condition of your liver and overall health. Cooler showers may also help.

I have firmly decided to leave that doctor!!! It turns out after reading her patient reviews not once did she receive even a decent review!! The reviews were exactly like my own experiences! Awful!

I asked her again when I saw her if I was diabetic and "casually" said again "no" and walked off! I KNOW THERE IS A SUGAR PROBLEM INSIDE ME AND MY THIRST WON'T SUBSIDE! I ASKED HER WHY I AM ALWAYS THIRSTY TO WHAT TO ME IS THE OBVIOUS AND SHE SAID "OH, I DON'T KNOW!"  

I know you are right so all of this will be addressed immediately with a new doctor!

Thanks for the advice! After my displeasure with this new doctor I am going to demand everything be done again, now with almost one and a half months without alcohol ingestion!!!

I will keep you posted about my experiences with a doctor I look forward to meeting!
