The only times I have gained weight was during pregnancy and most recently while on a med called zyprexa. As for cravings I do get them but I dont give in to them very often but they drive me mad some days. The worst thing is that I struggle to loose weight big time. I have noticed that my weight go's up and down in a 5kg range when I'm eating really healthy and if stay's more stable and most recently started loosing weight while eating not only healthy food but some not so healthy stuff like chocolate. It was recently that realised that when I really healthy I'm also eating a lot of carrots and other vegies that I remember getting a reaction from as a child when they did the the skin test on my arms for allergies. When I did the diet side of the process to see what reactions happens to me the carrots and other vegies that seem to have no reaction like the sugar and wheet had me. Recently I wondered about my healthier eating and loving carrots and wieght issues when I came across a site that said allergies may even cause weight problems.

If carrots are making it harder for me to loose weight how do I deal with this I love carrots, They have always been one of the main vegies I eat I would not know what could replace them in my diet. I only really stopped eating the food that caused headaches, mood changes, sinus problems etc.

I crave suger so bad and bread and weetbix and yet my allergy test showed a reaction. i avoide too much sugar because I end up with migraines but if I avoid it compleatly I get intence fatiuge. When I tell people this they say things to me make me feel like they dont beleaive me or that I'm making excuses up. I have tried really hard to create a balanced diet but I have had little sucsess manageing to feel healthy, stay healthy and pain free, But between headaches, IBS, low iron, and so many other issues I just want to scream some day's.

I struggle with diabete's type symptoms yet I dont have diabete's, and I struggle with thyroide type symptoms but my thyroid is fine. I know the suger allergy is main reason I suffer from diabete's like symptoms and now I'm wondering if carrot's or other allergies could be causing the weight issues. I lost 10kg at the gym even when I felt I was not really doing much more than I normally did. My sister and my friend were working harder than me at the gym and yet I lost the weight and they did not. All I know is I'm confused about how my metabilisim works.

Hello~Absolutely, food allergies can make it almost impossible to loose weight. Here is a link to a site that explains all about it. Here are a few sentences from it:
Do you have urges for a particular food and find it hard to satisfy your craving unless you eat that particular food?

If the answer is "yes" to either of these questions, then you have a food allergy. If you are also fat, then chances are your food allergy is making you fat.

Food sensitivities may cause allergic people to crave those foods to which they are allergic. Just as a drug addict suffers withdrawal symptoms when the drug is withdrawn, allergic people experience discomfort when they lose access to a particular food.

I also know that food allergies cause a person to hold more water.
