I'm not a Dr., but my thought is that it challenges the immune system if the allergies are not well maintained. Once my dd's allergies were well under control, so was her asthma. Be careful with otc immune boosters ... many contain plant derivatives of ragweed but you wouldn't recognize it .. if you are allergic to ragweed it can make matters worse.
