React to nearly all foods

I react to nearly all foods, have lost about 20 pounds, allergist is no help nor GI. I am eating only about 9 foods. Have tired, claritin ---no help, cannot tolerate zrytec or allegra.  I might have an auto immune disease, have a high ANA titer, 1:1280, see a Rheumatologist on August 9th. ARNP said I have severe Raynaud's which goes along with some auto immune diseases. Dietician no help. Has anyone else had this problem.

Thanks,

Sounds like Celiac disease or leaky gut syndrome.  The small intestine gets damaged and leaky in both cases and allows irritating proteins to get through the walls of the intestines.  You start reacting to many different proteins.  You need to find out what your food allergies are so your gut can heal.  With Celiac disease, gluten does the injury, but then you start being sensitive to other proteins too.  So cutting out gluten may allow your gut to heal and you eventually can eat more foods.  I am not endorsing the products advertised here, but they do explain the problem well.

Thanks to all  for your helpful comments.  Seattle Mom, do you see an allergist or Rheumatologist in Seattle and if so, would you mind giving me their names if you are pleased with your care ?  I am seeing a Rheumatologist in Tacoma on August 9th and have 2nd Allergy and Rheumatology opinions lined up for the end of August. Thanks. I think I have more going on, Acupuncturist noticed some ankle swelling.

Thanks so much for your comments. I am on a gluten, dairy free, almost everything free diet and am going to a Holistic ARNP who trained with Dr. Andrew Weil.  She suggested DGL which I also reacted to. I have been to so many Dr's and all are perplexedm Internal Medicine,-2 GI, Allergist, 2 Derm. It is looking like I have an auto immune disease but cannot see the rheumatologist until the 9th of August. I call every day hoping for a cancellation, waiting 5 weeks for this appt seems like an eternity.ARNP thinks that food allergies are related to which ever auto immune disease I might have. I do keep a food journal. This started out of the blue about 7 mos ago, over the holidays ate everything without any problems at all !?

Try a desensitization diet to id the triggers...usually done with plain, long grain white rice.  The internet has LOTS of info on this.  I experienced similar problems with id and this was the only way to id and remove the culprits.  Also, get a notebook and track everything - environmental, emotional and physical - even things that you do not think counts.  The journaling takes time bc you have to learn how as well as get in the habit.  However, I found it helped me and the doctors.

As to the previous post, if it is celiac, or another type of gluten sensitivity, be very careful about watching for hidden gluten.  It and milk are in almost everything.  You'll have to watch for the derivatives from both as well.  Just bc the product says "gluten free" or "milk free" does not mean it is.

P.S. Also watch the manufacturing method or plants.  Some foods that are truly gluten free are "contaminated" in/by the processing.
