When is a Food Allergy NOT a Food Allergy?

I've been to an allergist & have been informed that per the blood work & skin tests that I am not allergic to foods that I am sensitive to.  I started having an allergic reaction to shell fish 18 months ago since then I've had to stop eating: soy, eggs, & sunflower.  When I put an item in my mouth, my tounge & throat would go numb, lasting 3 days with taking Benadryl 2 @ 25mg caplets 3 xs a day.  It seems that new items are popping up every few months.  I've noticed that my throid has been sore/swelling when I eat these foods & wonder if it is related? Or just my body fighting an invisible invader... If I'm not truely allergic to these foods - What's wrong?  Why is my thyroid swelling when I eat them? And if it's not allergies - How can I stop this?

Hi --- I'm co-cl on the thyroid community .. pls. stop by and post your ? there, too ... maybe the other co-cl may have an idea.  Is it your thyroid or could it be your laranyx (such as croup) that's swelling.

There are certain food and iodine and relation to thyroid but I'm not well versed.  PM Stella5349 the co cl of thyroid if you want, and mention I suggested you contact her!
