sinus and dizziness

i have had my sinus problems over a year now, and also a dry cough for about 10 months that makes me gag, and about 2 weeks now i have been feeling dizzy, just went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics. i don't know what is causing the dizziness, because i heard that sinus can't cause that. can someone tell me what i should do?
i hate being dizzy, and its not all the time, it can last for an hour or through the day.

Hello,

Thanks for the blessings.Hope you feel better soon.In addition to the medicines which you doctor has prescribed(mainly nasal decongestants, antibiotics, steroids etc) avoid indigestible, spicy, foods and meats. Eat simply of wholesome food. Obtain needed out-of-door exercise, sunbaths, and swimming. It can also be treated using an antihistamine nasal spray. Antihistamine works by blocking your immune system's response to the allergen.

The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose. You may also find that adding some menthol crystals, or eucalyptus oil, to the water, helps to ease your symptoms of catarrh.

Hope it helps.Take care and God bless.

Hello,

Dizziness caused by sinusitis is very common. The likely cause is chronic nasal congestion that ultimately in many patients will block the eustachean tube connecting the nose to the middle ear. This tube keeps the pressure in the middle and inner ear normal. The inner ear is also responsible for balance. Thus, if the inner ear is disturbed, such as an infection, which is usually viral, an affected patient will often complain of lightheadedness or dizziness.

If dizziness is being caused by sinusitis in your case, then treatment of sinusitis only will lead to its improvement. How ever other causes of dizziness are low BP,hypoglycemia,TIA,Impending stroke, inner ear diseases,Meniere’s disease, cervical spondolysis, vertebrobasilar insufficiency and carotid sinus syndrome.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you had any other queries.
