17yr old eye/head discomfort

by erin__, Jun 26, 2007 12:14PM
4 weeks ago I developed a fungal skin infection which cleared. 3 days later I got a red/blood shot left eye&dull ache/weird feeling on the left side of my head, kind of behind my ear. The redness went away the next day but the ache in my head has been there ever since. The pain goes away for say half an hour up to a few hours&comes back. I sometimes get this feeling on the right side of my head too. Along with some pain in my left eye, sometimes in my right eye.  I get earache for up to 1 minute but its not consistent. I get pain in the front of my head or at the side. The feelings at the back side of my head can feel warm or kind of tingly. I felt nauseous for a few days over the weekend during the 3rd week of this but this has now cleared&i have a fever which comes&goes. I had an eye exam which was fine but I was told I had dry eyes&given eye drops but this hasnt stopped the pain in my head or my eye. Sometimes my neck feels stiff when im sitting at the computer or something. I went to the doctor who said it sounded like a sinus problem&gave me a nasal spray. I dont think it is a sinus problem because i dont feel a blocked pressure under my eyes or my nose. I have an appointment with a different doctor on thursday to get a different opinion.. Hopefully i'll get a blood test to see if there is anything wrong but usually i find that my doctor is quite dismissive&puts everything down to a viral infection. But it has been over 3 weeks&there is still no change. No dizziness.
