ASLO shown postive 200 in my kid

My daughter is 8 year old & is complaining continuous Body pains,  leg pain, head ache, chest pain .
She has Tonsils & also cold with congestion.

The doc advised us to get CBT & ASLO.

Except for ALSO, everything was fine. ASLO is 200 & shown positive.

She is on Antibiotic medication & still complains pain. Doctor said once the course gets over, she need to get the ASLO done & then if count gets down to 150..it should be fine.
IF not then she need get pansulin injected every month for 3 years.

I have been reading over the net that this might have implications on heart. is it true.
and also, if I get get operated for tonsils, is it true that there is a chance in getting the ASLO\ASO count rasied.

This really worries me. Can anybody help me.

Hi,
Normal levels of ASLO in children between the age of 4-12 years is 160-300 units/ml. Elevated levels can happen due to beta hemolytic streptococcal infection, rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, bacterial endocarditis, glomerulonephritis etc. Yes as your doctor mentioned your child’s ASLO levels should be checked after the acute period of infection to rule out rheumatic fever. Hope this helps. Best.
