Allergic reaction when drinking alcohol

by jonathan548, Jul 31, 2006 12:00AM
Hey guys,
Whenever i start drinking alcohol I get really red. I don't necessarily have to be drunk. Even after drinking a bottle of beer it happens. Is this an allergic reaction, if so, is there anything i can do to prevent it from happening?
Thanks so much in advance.

do you have any other symptoms, such as shortness of breath?  i don't think it's too unusual to have a "flushed" face as a result of drinking.  i know one drink of wine and i sometimes have quite a red nose and red cheeks - and you're right, it is embarrassing!

I don't dring beer, but the same think happens to me when drinking wine.  I'm not sure how old you are, but your skin thins out as you get older.
