Allergic to haircolors .

Hi.I am hairdresser and  was wondering if my allergies are due to using all these harsh chemicals in my salon-perms,colors etc ? I use gloves but...I get a rush all over my sides-ribs and my buttocks and also in my mouth blister like itchy things. Any ideas  anyone?

i apologize for low case writing...i sprained my left wrist and have to write with one hand .
thank you so much for reply. i noticed on many occassions that when i apply a haircolor or perm solution...i get itchy right away. on days off when i don't work i don't have any symptoms. i was advised to do 'elisa' test and not  a prickly test.whatever this is...i have no clue.my doctor told me that both are good but one is  done on my back and the other by taking blood and i have to pay for it myself.  i will do both....to compare.
i don't know if this will affect me in any bad way but i am gonna  consider changing some things in my salon.
thank you very much for your advise.i will keep you posted.

So many people are very allergic to hair dyes.  These hair dyes can cause other problems, too.  Perhaps it's time to stop using the hair dyes on other people, since it's affecting you.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Yes, it is possible that the rash is due to inhaled chemicals. It is not contact dermatitis as the rash is mainly on covered areas. However you must get an allergy test done, either a skin ***** or RAST.

It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage, without examining you. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
