Allergies, sinus infection and dizziness

In May I began to have dizzy spells which coincided with a sore throat and earache, which cleared up on their own. However, dizziness and fatigue continued for several weeks. The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out).  I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue.  It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure.  I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.  Could allergies have led to a sinus infection?  Can the sinus infection cause dizziness and fatigue?

Due to the holiday weekend I haven't been able to call my doctor, but after 3 prior visits he's never suggested sinuses to be a cause.

i literally cried when i read this because the same thing has been happening to me over the past week. it's just so reassuring to know that i'm not the only person in the world going through this. it all started wen i took a whiff of some hand sanitizer my friend gave me. after that i've been feeling extremely dizzy. i have an anxiety disorder and so i had a panic attack because i din't know wat was wrong. i always have panic attacks on the bus on the way to school. some days i feel so anxious i feel like i'm going to pass out. i've been so stressed out that i've started to bite my nails and over eat. i talked to my doctor about my anxiety and he prescribed aprazolam for me. it is amazing! i only take it wen i really need it tho because i don't like taking pills. it really works. i think you should talk to your doctor about aprazolam. you can also try talking about your anxiety with any close relative because it really helps to get it all off your chest. i really hope you feel better

I Have been having Dizzy spells for the past 3 mos. I been to the doctors and they said I had vertigo a inner ear infection so they gave me antibiotics and then when it clear up they said i had fluid behind my ear drums that is why I still feel the dizziness...so she told me to take allergy meds..ok than I started to development a sinus infection so i went back and now she has me on antibiotics again...and said that sinus infection usually follows after an ear infection...but I still have dizziness and she said that the one ear cleared up from the fluid but the other one has it now...and that the antibiotics that I am taking for my sinus infection should clear everything up....I hope so because this dizziness is driving me insane as well as scarying me.

Caused my allergies, sinuses, colds.  Fluid sent to your inner ear throwing off your compass. I Rarely get colds that show symptoms because fluid goes to inner ear.  Take Meclizine, Meclizine, Meclizine.....saved my life!!!!!
When I feel it coming on, I only take 1/2 of pill (25mg.).  Especially before bed.  I carry it wherever I go.  I also have Phenergan on hand in case Meclizine does not work.  It ALWAYS works.
