My 70 yo Mother has had nosebleedsNosebleed Nosebleed for the past 6 months. Recently they've become frequent & severe enough that she's been to urgent care twiceTwice-a-day, had her noseNose fracture packed & cauterized twiceTwice-a-day. I suggested she get allergy testing and discovered she is allergic to dust, trees, cats, grass, etc.
Doc recommended allergy shots.
Two questions:
One) Doc said she can't take meds for allergies b/c it will dry up her noseNose fracture and make nosebleedsNosebleed Nosebleed worse. Is this true? (I thought meds might dry up her nose and let the nosebleed heal and thus stop them.)
Two) Mom has high blood pressure & an arrythmia. Aren't Allergy Shots discouraged if you have these conditions?? I read that on-line, and if it's true, I'm thinking I should find Mom a new doc before this guy kills her.
I think you should take your mother to another physician.
I can't answer your questions, but I can tell you that I've heard that Benadryl is not good for senior citizens to take.
