Allergy or not?

Dear doctor!

I have painful and photophobic eyes for about four months now. I’ve visited 4 ophtalmologysts but they didn’t found anything problematic. Only recently I’ve found out that I have strong allergy on grass, mite and house dust.
The thing is; even before this information I used Lotemax, Opatanol and Zaditor drops and even Zyrtec pills. But only zaditor helped reduced photophobia a little.

My question is: is there a way to find out that my eye problems are in fact allergic reactions and not due to some other factors?

Thank you very much. (and sorry for my bad english)

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of hay fever. It is caused by airborne particles of dust, dander, or plant pollens in people who are allergic to these substances.

Pls contact an allergic specialist and get skin tests like skin ***** test done. In this a small amount of allergen is introduced into the skin of the forearm and the reaction of the skin is noted. If there is any redness then that person is allergic to the allergen introduced.

You can also get blood tests like RAST done. This is a confirmatory test which measures the amount of antibody produces in response to an allergic reaction.

Hope I have provided you with sufficient information. In case you have additional queries, pls post us.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
