Allergy related?

Age 58.  Male. Problem: not able to voice clearly due to mucus in throat / larynx whic seems to be generated above soft pallet area.  Time with problem: +/- 30 years of what I call having to grind / dredge thick sticky mucus out of my throat and spit it out in order to speak more clearly.  In speaking I need to do this several times / minute. I also try to swallow hard to pass this mucus beyond my larynx.  This on-going and year-round condition is accompanied by a minor upper sore throat or sore soft pallet area.  Mucus in the morning is thick and somewhat yellow after sleep and no extraction during the night.  During the day it is white and clear with spots of harder coagulation within.  My voice tires easily in speaking and singing.  People are distracted somewhat by my need to "clear my throat" so often. Singing has had to stop in recent years.  This because after +/- a minute my throat / voice gets very tired and sore.  I've been to otolaryngologists a half dozen times over the years for a one- visit treatment with not one of them seeming to have a consensus with another as to what's wrong.  This condition seems to be getting worse. I would like to check it or, preferred, reduce or eliminate it completely.  Any ideas?  Chronic non-specific laryngitis?
