Am I allergic to latex?

Am I allergic to latex?

If I touch latex gloves (and other latex items) for longer than 15 minutes my hand turns all red, dry out and skin cracks like a mild sunburn. Is that common? I used to think it was normal and everyone got that.

Hi,

You are suffering from allergy to the latex gloves. It would be best to avoid use of latex gloves and use non latex gloves and also carry an antihistamine or antiallergic medication handy in case of a sudden allergic reaction.

Consult your doctor whether you need to carry an epi-pen or not.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us on how you are doing.

Regards.

Yes, you are indeed allergic to latex gloves. I would suggest you wear latex free nitrile gloves.

IGotGloves.com offers very good latex free nitrile gloves.
