Hi, welcome to the forum, betamethasone (celestamine) is a sytemic steroid. Short courses of systemic glucocorticoids may be indicated for severe allergic rhinitis symptoms that are preventing the patient from sleeping or working. This was used previously as wide methods to treat rhinitis. Systemic glucocorticoids, is very effective in relieving the symptoms of allergic rhinitis; however, the potential side effects of them are too great to justify this approach.

Hence, we do not prefer it, better to go for alternative steroids which can be given intranasally. Intra nasal corticosteroids (flunisolide, budesonide, fluticasone etc.) are presently the most effective single maintenance therapy for allergic rhinitis and cause few side effects at the recommended doses. I suggest you to consult physician for appropriate prescription. Take care and regards.
