Has anyone had an allergy to sulf drugs that caused anxiety, hot/cold flashes, etc., if so, how long after stopping the drug did it take to get back to normal?  Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the forum, hot and cold flashes is experienced by few and the appropriate reasons should be ruled out. Bactrim/Septra/Sulfa Allergy is usually not associated with hot flashes except in cases of drug fever which is seen with these drugs.

The common causes of flashes are Fever, hyperthermia, Menopause, Emotional blushing and Rosacea.

Menopausal flushing is commonly seen in women of age more than 45 years and uncommon in younger women unless there is a considerable estrogen deficiency which is associated with episodic sensations of heat, intense sweating, and flushing. In such cases hormonal replacement therapy will help to relieve the symptoms even psychological manifestations.

Even neurologic disorders that disturb autonomic function anywhere along the nervous system can lead to flushing.

Many medications cause flushing which includes Calcium channel blockers, calcitonin, high dose intravenous methylprednisolone, opiates, cholinergic drugs, contrast media, vancomycin, amphotericin B, and many chemotherapeutic agents.

I suggest you to consult physician to rule out the appropriate cause for the same. Take care and regards.
